Nice informative article. We at ProdLib have free add-on to Revit, Archicad, Tekla structures, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and more. Makes it easier to get access to BIM-files.

In reply to Simon. Hi Simon, There are many other tools used for various design and management purposes. As you noticed, whole building performance simulations, there are also cost planning applications, structural analysis apps, facility management solutions, and many others. My intention with this article was to show only the 20 most popular BIM-related software used in Norway today not more not less. That's why other types of applications are not in the list.

I'm missing the whole simulation part of BIM? Which tools are used to simulate and do better projects at the end?

Modeling tools is a basic need to start with BIM
Collaboration and Datamanagment tools bring it to the next level.
Quality Checks and coordination are just necessary for the workflow.
Process automation with SimpleBIM is an enabler for efficiency.
But interconnected building performance simulations can really improve the quality of the final project...
